Jio Platforms files RHP; price band set at ₹1,065–₹1,119 with bidding from 21 October

Reliance Industries told the stock exchanges that Jio Platforms filed its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), dated 14 October 2026, with the Registrar of Companies in Gujarat, and that the IPO committee of Jio Platforms' board approved the price band, employee discount and minimum bid lot the same day, according to PTI and Business Today.

What changed

  • The offer moved from a draft document (DRHP) to a Red Herring Prospectus — the document investors bid against.
  • A price band of ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share and a minimum bid of 12 shares were announced, so one lot costs ₹13,428 at the top of the band.
  • Dates were set: anchor bidding on 19 Oct and public bidding from Wed 21 Oct to Fri 23 Oct 2026.
  • Two reserved portions were disclosed: up to ₹500 crore for eligible employees (₹54/share discount) and up to ₹2,500 crore for eligible individual and HUF shareholders of Reliance Industries as of 14 Oct 2026.

What is confirmed

“Confirmed” here means attributed to an official filing by the sources below. Our status labels on the IPO page show which items our editors have checked in the primary document.

  • Fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares of face value ₹10; no offer for sale by existing shareholders.
  • Main use of proceeds: up to ₹27,500 crore to repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm.
  • Proposed listing on BSE and NSE; KFin Technologies is the registrar.

What remains unconfirmed

  • The final issue price — it is fixed only after bidding closes.
  • Allotment and listing dates are tentative (outlets report allotment on 26 Oct and listing on 28 Oct; one outlet reported 29 Oct).
  • Subscription levels. Reports of large institutional interest before launch cite unnamed people and are not official subscription data.
  • Any grey market premium (GMP). GMP is unofficial and unregulated, and we do not publish it as a price signal.

What it may mean for investors

  • Retail applicants can bid in multiples of 12 shares, up to the ₹2 lakh retail limit — 14 lots (168 shares, ₹1,87,992) at the upper band, by our arithmetic.
  • Eligible RIL shareholders may be able to apply in both the shareholder portion and the retail/NII category, subject to the RHP's eligibility rules.
  • At the top of the band, the implied equity value is about ₹10.3 lakh crore, roughly 34× FY26 reported profit after tax by our calculation — see our valuation page.
