Applying
How do I apply for the Jio Platforms IPO?
Use your broker's app or your bank's ASBA facility during the bidding window. Choose a category, bid in lots of 12, approve the UPI mandate before the deadline, and check allotment after it is finalised.
Can Reliance Industries shareholders get a special quota?
Yes. Up to ₹2,500 crore is reserved for eligible individual and HUF shareholders of Reliance Industries as of 14 October 2026, with no discount. Eligibility rules are in the RHP.
Can I apply in both the shareholder quota and the retail category?
Coverage of the RHP reports that an eligible RIL shareholder can submit one bid in the shareholder portion and one in the retail or non-institutional category. Check the RHP before relying on this.
Is there an employee discount?
Yes. Eligible employees can bid in a reservation of up to ₹500 crore with a ₹54 per share discount, as reported.
Will I definitely get shares if I apply?
No. If the retail portion is oversubscribed, shares are allotted by lottery in minimum lots, and many applicants receive none. Your blocked money is released if you are not allotted.
The company and its shares
Is Jio Platforms the same as Reliance Jio?
No. Jio Platforms Limited is the holding company that is doing the IPO. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited is its telecom subsidiary that runs the Jio network.
Are Jio Platforms shares the same as Reliance Industries shares?
No. They are different securities. Reliance Industries owns about 66% of Jio Platforms, but owning an RIL share does not give you Jio Platforms shares.
How much is the IPO raising and where will the money go?
Up to about ₹30,213 crore at the upper band, all from new shares. Up to ₹27,500 crore is earmarked to repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm, with the rest for general corporate purposes.
What is Jio Platforms valued at in the IPO?
About ₹10.3 lakh crore at the upper band, as widely reported and consistent with our arithmetic. That is roughly 34 times FY26 profit after tax.
Pre-IPO, GMP and safety
Can I buy Jio Platforms unlisted shares before the IPO?
Only through private transfers, if a holder is willing and allowed to sell. Availability is not guaranteed, prices are opaque, lock-ins may apply, and fraud risk is high. With the IPO scheduled, applying in the IPO is the regulated route.
What is the Jio Platforms IPO GMP?
GMP, or grey market premium, is an unofficial, unregulated quote from off-market dealers. It is not published by the company, exchanges or SEBI and is not a reliable predictor of listing price, so we do not publish it.
Someone on WhatsApp offered me guaranteed Jio IPO allotment. Is it real?
No. Nobody can guarantee IPO allotment. Never pay into personal accounts or links from social media. Report it to the cybercrime helpline 1930.
