Jio Platforms valuation at the IPO price band
What the ₹1,065–₹1,119 price band implies for Jio Platforms' total value and earnings multiple — with the arithmetic shown so you can check it.
Short answer
At the top of the band, Jio Platforms’ implied equity value is about ₹10.30 lakh crore, in line with the ₹10.3 lakh crore widely reported. That is roughly 34.3× FY26 profit after tax. These are our calculations from reported figures, not official valuations.
How we calculate it
- Post-issue shares = pre-issue shares (≈893.9 crore) + fresh shares (27 crore) ≈ 920.9 crore. Unverified
- Implied equity value = post-issue shares × price per share.
- Trailing P/E = implied equity value ÷ FY26 profit after tax (≈₹30,050 crore). Reported
- Price-to-sales = implied equity value ÷ FY26 revenue from operations (₹1,46,885 crore).
- Post-issue equity sharesAbout 920.9 crore (893.9 crore pre-issue + 27 crore fresh)
Single secondary source. Consistent with RIL's 593.78 crore shares = 66.43% and the 27 crore fresh issue ≈ 2.9% dilution, but confirm in the RHP capital structure section.
- Implied equity value at upper bandAbout ₹10.3 lakh crore
- FY26 profit after taxAbout ₹30,050 crore (outlets report ₹30,049–30,053 crore)
Small differences between outlets likely reflect rounding or attributable vs total profit. Use the RHP's restated financial statements as the reference figure.
- FY26 consolidated revenue from operations₹1,46,885 crore (up about 14.6% from ₹1,28,218 crore)

Valuation context from coverage
Reuters, as cited by Mobile World Live, put the upper-band valuation at about $108 billion. CNBC reported that Nomura estimated Jio’s enterprise value at $118 billion, below an earlier $133 billion expectation. Before the price band, a 2025 ICICI Securities note had estimated a valuation of around $148 billion by FY27. These are third-party views and differ partly because enterprise value includes debt while equity value does not.
- Main use of proceedsUp to ₹27,500 crore to repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm (material subsidiary); balance for general corporate purposes
Using IPO proceeds to repay up to ₹27,500 crore of subsidiary debt reduces net debt, which is one reason enterprise-value and equity-value comparisons need care.
Dilution and ownership after the IPO
The 27 crore fresh shares are about 2.9% of the post-issue share count. Reliance Industries’ stake would fall from 66.43% to about 64.5%. Estimate
